Jean’s book for Holly…

The tough thing about an illustrated book for children is the storyboard.  Maybe the drawings are a challenge, but trying to create a story with specific interest is tricky.  My philosophy has always included teachable moments with kiddos, and a bit of humor.  Kids learn so much through play, and that gets beat out of us as adults.  It takes some playful introspection to try and retrieve a perspective that kids can relate to.   I started by watching the Dr. Seuss inspired movie Lorax.  It reminded me that the idea can be simple.  Plus, my Dad friend reminded me that it has to be EASY to read.  No tongue twisting rhymes and twisty words which are hard on a tired mind.  So here is my simple story for Holly, who loves horses and her new sandbox!
